Reflections of a facilitator at Agile Coach Camp

As a facilitator, I am struck by the quality of the Agile Coach Camp community, the passion and energy that each of the participants is bringing to the gathering and their conversations. I’m not an Agile coach. As an outsider, I see in this group many people who feel that Agile is more than a vocation, it is a calling. I see a sensitivity to human social needs and a dedication to bending human social and technology systems towards improved value creation. I see a group of people who see themselves as agents of change, and who have the capacity to make the world a better place.

I’m honoured to have been asked to help this group have the conversations they need to have, to become better Agile coaches, build better teams and to become a better community.

Posting your Session Summary

Those of us lucky enough to facilitate a session will want to post a summary. Posting is really simple, nevertheless we have written down some instructions. The session grid will also be updated to link to your session summary after you post it.

Do I Need to Bring a Laptop?

It would be great if you could tweet/blog while at the conference. If you don’t want to bring your own device then no problem, we’ll have 3 laptops in the Fishbowl (2 PCs, 1 Mac) or you can share with a friend!

Free Parking

We just completed the deal for all of our participants to get free parking in B Lot from 4 pm Friday night until 6 pm Saturday night. If you arrive before 4pm on Friday, then you will need to pay $3 in coins to enter the parking lot.

To park in B lot, enter off Phillip St., north of East Campus Hall but south of RIM’s entrance as depicted below.

We are thrilled to announce that Gerry Kirk will be leading us through the unkeynote.

Gerry has a few surprises in store but we will be playing the ball point game. This is an extremely powerful, fun game that teams just love to play.

Right after the lightning talks we will all head down to the Heuther Hotel for dinner and drinks. ThoughtCorp has kindly agreed to pay for taxis to take us there and back!

Lightning Talks

Lightning talks should provoke, enlighten, and stretch the imagination! They should get people connecting with each others’ ideas on Friday night, before we start working in the Open Space on Saturday morning. It’s an opportunity for you to talk for 1-3 minutes on the subject of your Position Papers or ANY topic you think participants will find interesting. We have described Lightning Talks in more detail or there is more on the originator’s site.
